With very few exceptions, every database that exports to RefWorks will also export to Zotero. Zotero allows you to import citations from databases within a web browser and will also import web pages and citations from various non-library sites (e.g. Amazon). Zotero’s local software can also look up online citations using DOI, PMID, and OpenURL. Many databases also provide the option of direct export in RIS format. However, data can usually be exported and re-imported from one program into any of the others.
Zotero also offers Chrome and Firefox extensions that make importing from Quick Search and other databases much easier.
